I'm not one for New Year's resolutions or any sort of structured time of year to reflect, holidays etc., in general. I think it only ends up with people behaving badly and then repenting and so on and so forth into a cycle that doesn't promote any sort of personal growth. I like to be inspired to try harder or do something different and then keep a running tab as I go along. Yes, that means that sometimes I completely forget that I have any goals at all, but suprisingly, most of them get accomplished and more importantly, "stick" in my life. So far my goals look like this.
1. Clean out my closet ENTIRELY (started off with having the perfect closet, now has devolved into a very different aim)
2. Ski on black diamond trails this year (started 4 years ago)
3. Learn how to surf (thought of it while in Montauk in July)
4. Cook more (reminded whenever bf cooks for me)
5. Sit/Stand up straight (used to have fantastic perfect violinist posture)
The first one is a monster of a task but is getting done, the next two just need some vacation planning, and while the last two sound the easiest, let me tell you, when I'm comfortably slouching on the couch with a takeout menu in hand, that's when I start thinking, goals? what goals?
